Our first Leading Light features Diamond Visiting Scientist, Dr Anna Regoutz, lecturer in Materials Chemistry at UCL and a CAMS UK Fellow. The I09 beamline has aided her research into the area of semiconductors, specifically ultrawide bandgap materials. The I09 beamline provides soft and hard X-rays, revealing what elements are present, what the chemical environment is, but most importantly, what the electronic structure of the material is.
Diamond Light Source is the UK's national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.
