Project management in research environments that exist to create new technology, pushing the boundaries of possibility, require a more flexible approach without compromising control. A balance of ingredients enabling the pursuit of knowledge and delivery of projects within the constraints of the economic world is required.
This work shop explored the challenges facing project managers in the research and development environment and examined how different organisations tackle these issues.
