Diamond Light Source held a workshop on the processing and analysis of XAS data
Diamond Light Source held a workshop on the processing and analysis of XAS data from the 7th-9th of June. Diamond has three x-ray absorption spectroscopy beamlines, one of which is operational, I18, with the other two, B18 and I20, coming online in the first half of 2010. The workshop was aimed at new, existing and potential users of the Diamond spectroscopy beamlines who want to get the most from the data they collect at Diamond.
The workshop was held at Diamond and consisted of a mixture of lectures and hands-on sessions and the course focussed on the use of the IFEFFIT suite of programs in particular the use of Athena and Artemis to perform data processing and analysis.
Topics covered:
Computing resources for the data analysis sessions were provided by Diamond Light Source. A tour of the Diamond spectroscopy beamlines was also organized, allowing participants to take a close look at the experimental facilities available.
Participation
The course was limited to 20 people chosen based on their experience and the relevance of the workshop to their research.
Diamond Light Source is the UK's national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.
