Beamline features

I03 is one of Diamond's beamlines for Macromolecular Crystallography (MX) experiments and is closely related to beamlines I02 and I04. It is tunable over a wavelength range of 0.54 - 2.25 Å and has a standard working energy of 0.976 Å or 12.7 keV. Beamline features include:

  • Rigaku ACTOR sample changer
  • Pilatus 6M detector
  • Vortex fluorescence detector
  • Automated data processing
  • Remote access

The beamline has been designed to undertake macromolecular crystallography work with pathogenic samples up to Hazard Group 3. Developments are underway that should lead to the first test experiments occurring mid 2011.
