Biography

Jitka Waterman is a Senior Industrial Liaison Scientist assisting industrial clients with structural biology and protein crystallography projects.

She joined the Industrial Liaison Office in 2011 and brings over 25 years of expertise in the area of structural biology and macromolecular X-ray crystallography.

Jitka completed her PhD in Biophysics at the Masaryk University in the Czech Republic and at Lund University in Sweden, focusing on the structural analysis of pollutant-degrading haloalkane dehalogenases and maize beta-glucosidase involved in the regulation of plant development.

Jitka then worked as a postdoctoral research scientist at the University of York, where she studied the cobalamin biosynthetic pathway in Pseudomonas sp. in Keith Wilson's group, and later participated in collaborative projects within the biotech industry. Prior to joining Diamond, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Dave Stuart's group at the University of Oxford, where she researched influenza RNA-polymerase.
