Alex obtained an MChem from University of Reading in 2017. He stayed at the university for his PhD, a Johnson Matthey funded studentship which involved spells as an XPS intern at Johnson Matthey Technology Centre, and as an Inorganic Chemistry Teaching Fellow at the University of Reading.
Having spent a significant amount of time at Diamond during his PhD, Alex started at B07 as a postdoc in June 2021. Current research projects include the production of thin film oxide support materials as spectroscopically friendly model catalyst supports, and the modification of nickel surfaces with amino acids for enantioselective hydrogenation reactions.
