The next Inside Diamond open day will feature stalls and activities, a short introduction to Diamond and a tour of the machine. We expect the visit will last around two and a half hours. Booking for open days opens 6-8 weeks in advance of the event. Click here for more details.
At Diamond Light Source we are busy preparing an upgrade to the synchrotron, its beamlines and infrastructure, known as Diamond-II. In May 2018, Diamond’s management presented an outline science case for Diamond-II to its Science Advisory Committee (SAC) and received strong endorsement for the new machine design and the opportunities it offers.
It is important that we now directly engage with our academic and industrial user communities in order to explore how Diamond-II will best support research and innovation. To this end, we are hosting a series of scientific workshops in September. The workshops are co-organised by the Diamond Science Group Leaders and the Diamond User Committee (DUC) representatives and aim to discuss the science drivers, gather the requirements and ideas from our users.
These strategic workshops are aimed at experienced synchrotron users and will include open discussions where participants will be required to contribute. If you would like to take part, please register to attend an event via the links below. Spaces are limited; registrations will close a week in advance.
