Want to learn more about one of science's heroes from history, Henry Moseley? Moseley solved one of chemistry's greatest puzzles - determining what distinguishes elements from one another and developed a means of identifying elements based on their atomic characteristics. Sadly he lost his life fighting at Gallipoli in WWI.

2019 is the International Year of the Periodic Table, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the discovery of the Period System by Dimitri Mendeleev in 1869. The Periodic Table fundamentally influenced science, allowing us to push the definitions of our natural world and advance biology, physics, chemitstry and more.
Here at Diamond, we use the periodic table every day. From experiements on our beamlines, to key developments by our engineering team, elements are a part of our world-changing science.
This year, we will be highlighting some of the exciting elements that we work with, with a focus on a new category of elements every month. Join us as we celebrate the Year of the Periodic Table - and hopefully learn something new about Diamond along the way!
