Diamond is partnering with Thermo Fisher Scientific, world leading providers of EM microscopes, to facilitate easy access to cryo-EM facilities and services. The partnership enables companies to discover the potential of cryo-EM for drug discovery, before making any long-term commitments.
Cryo-EM provides invaluable insight for structure-based drug design. By getting to grips with this research technique in a controlled environment, researchers can start to speed up their drug discovery with robust and effective results.
eBIC for Industry provides a range of capabilities, from grid preparation and screening (using the Glacios Cryo-TEM) to high resolution data collection (using the Krios Cryo-TEM), data analysis and 3D reconstruction, offering different levels of services to meet a range of diverse requirements and experience across its customer base.
Dedicated in-house experts are on-hand to advise and support industrial users throughout their time at eBIC, including work-based training where required. The team is accustomed to the challenges faced by the pharma and biotech industries so work closely with them to understand and deliver against their specific requirements whilst working to strict protocols to ensure data security.

As well as the facilities provided in eBIC for industry, the Diamond industrial liaison team also offers a full range of cutting-edge structural biology characterisation techniques thanks to the co-location with the synchrotron.
