Olivia obtained her Ph.D. from Washington State University (2020) in the laboratory of Prof. Helmut Kirchhoff. Her research was focused on the photoprotection mechanism of the resurrection plant, Craterostigma pumilum under drought stress.

In 2021, she joined the group of Dr. Laura Bartley and studied the regulation of grass cell walls. In 2022, she again joined the lab of Prof. Kirchhoff and works on the protein landscape dynamics in plant thylakoid membranes.

Olivia is working at the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC) for 9 months, starting in October 2022 to study arrangements of cytochrome b6f and photosystem II in thylakoid membranes at different light conditions.
