Health Physics: Radiation Safety Training

All people who need unescorted access to the synchrotron building must have attended a radiation safety training session (see HAS-PRC-0032) within the last two years.

This is because, although you may not be entering or working in the controlled radiation areas such as accelerator vaults or beamline hutches, there is no means of restricting access to these areas once inside the synchrotron building. Attendance at the training will also allow you to accompany non-trained visitors and tour groups in the synchrotron building.

Note: Some of you may need to take both training as your work may require you to access all the areas in the synchrotron building.

This page is for those who do not have a Diamond Fed ID. If you do have a Diamond Fed ID please use the Intranet or the link in the automated reminder email rather than this page to complete the training.

Accelerator Training Video

If you need to go inside the synchrotron ring or in any supervised or controlled area (accelerator vaults) in Zone 13 (inside , Linac, Booster ring or RF cavity test facility) then you will need to take Accelerator training. 

Beamlines and Experimental Halls Training Video

You will need this training if you work only in any Beamlines or laboratories or anywhere in the experimental halls and do not need to go in the accelerator vaults or Zone 13.

Once completed the online test you will see the score, as well as a notification email, will be sent to Health Physics.
