Diamond: The Game has been specifically designed and tested for use in schools. As well as being fun for students it gives a flavour of being a research scientist and shows elements of careers in research that students may not have considered.
As well as showing some of the range of careers and types of research carried out, the game shows the importance of teamwork, collaboration and some of the challenges that a career in science can provide.
The game can be played by up to 5 players, is quick to learn and takes about 20 minutes to play. So we hope that a set of games will be useful for teachers in looking at careers in a classroom setting.
Diamond will be giving away class sets of Diamond: The Game. The number of sets we can give away will increase depending on extra funding we can secure.
We are supporting STFC's Wonder Initiative so we are particularly keen for the game to be used with students that often have difficulties accessing scientific facilities such as Diamond or who are typically underrepresented. However games will be distributed to schools based on a variety of factors and we hope to reach a wide geographic and academic spread.
If you would like to apply for a set please fill in the form below
