Martha Briceno is a Senior Electron Microscopist at Johnson Matthey Technology Centre (JMTC) specializing in Cryo-EM and Diffraction. She completed her DPhil in Materials Science at the University of Oxford (2005). After finishing her DPhil she joined Professor Ian Robertson group at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2005-2010) focusing her postoctoral experience doing in situ deformation experiments to discover deformation processes and mechanisms and how dislocations interact with defects produced by radiation damage. She later joined Professor Steve Roberts group (Materials for Fusion and Fission Power) at the University of Oxford to carry on in situ irradiation experiments and characterization of irradiated materials, until she joined JMTC in February 2012.
