Biography

Tohru Araki received his Ph.D in 1998 at Nagoya University in Japan. He was a Post-doctoral fellow at RIKEN in 1997-1999. He engaged in education and research work at Saitama University as Research Associate in 1999-2001.

He worked as Research Associate at McMaster University in 2001-2003, then moved to North Carolina State University to work as Research Associate, later as Visiting Assistant Professor in 2003-2007. During the above time, his research work was conducted mainly at the Advanced Light Source using Soft X-ray Spectromicroscopy and Resonant Scattering techniques.

He worked as Scientist at TOYOTA Central R&D Laboratory and also as a visiting scientist at the SPring-8 in 2007-2012.

Since 2012, he is the Senior Beamline Scientist of the I08-SXM Scanning X-ray Microscopy beamline at the Diamond Light Source, UK.

He published over 60 articles.
