Suwimon joined the Electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC) in October 2024 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Professor Peijun Zhang’s group. Her work focuses on optimizing workflows to study biofilm structure using cryo-FIB-SEM.

Suwimon completed her Ph.D. from Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. Alexandra Porter, Prof. David McComb, and Prof. Molly Stevens. Her doctoral research focused on characterizing the ultrastructure and chemistry of bone nodules cultured from stem cells, employing TEM, STEM-EELS, EDS. Suwimon continues her research on bone calcification in murine models for both native and pathological models employing a combination of electron microscopy-based techniques and other material characterization. Her work aimed to understand how these mechanisms are altered or disrupted, which may help identify therapeutic targets. This research was conducted at the Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging, King’s College London, where she worked as a PDRA in Prof. Roland Fleck’s group. She also worked as research scientist at the National Nanotechnology Centre in Thailand. There, she led independent projects and collaborated on studies focused on bio-inspired materials for bone tissue engineering.
