Beamline B24 is currently in user mode.
Diamond routinely accepts proposals during a twice yearly call for proposals. There are two deadlines to be aware of:
For more information, please visit beamtime.
At this stage, we are offering absorption contrast within the water window at ~500eV (phase contrast at ~2.5keV is under commissioning) at a resolution between 35-40nm for vitrified biological samples.
For these experiments it is essential that users have, in addition to a strong science case, demonstrated expertise in sample preparation or have discussed the preparation with beamline staff prior to submission.
Interested users should submit applications through the UAS and choose the 'Standard Access' route.
All proposals will be assessed and beamtime will be granted based on scientific merit with a strong emphasis on technical feasibility.
Rapid access 'pilot studies' (max. 3 shifts) will be available and may be suggested prior to a full beamtime allocation in cases where there is uncertainty on sample preparation, user experience or feasibility.
For technical questions about proposed experiments please contact email@example.com.
