PhotoEmission Electron Microscopy (PEEM) Workshop

Oct 11. till Oct 11.

PhotoEmission Electron Microscopy (PEEM) Workshop

PhotoEmission Electron Microscopy (PEEM), combined with polarised soft X-rays, offers an elegant route to explore the local chemical, structural and magnetic properties of quantum and functional materials.

To develop a more detailed understanding of PEEM and Low-Energy Electron Microscopy (LEEM) within the user community, Diamond is offering its first training workshop in line with the opening of a new offline PEEM/LEEM facility with funding from the EPSRC.

This one-day workshop will cover the theoretical principles of PEEM, when combined with UV and polarised X-rays, along with a hands-on practical session allowing attendees to align and operate the equipment. There will also be an introduction to LEEM for surface and interface studies. This workshop is open to post-graduate students, postdocs and early-career researchers wishing to use the PEEM-LEEM at Diamond.
