An opportunity for PhD students to visit Diamond and ISIS and gain an overview of the available techniques and talk to scientists in their specialist fields.

The ISIS/Diamond CDT Open Day will take place on Monday June 12th 2017.

It will offer PhD students the opportunity to visit our facilities, get an overview of the techniques available at ISIS and Diamond, and talk to scientists with expertise in their specialist research areas.  There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and there will be two tours available, led by subject experts.
These subject specific tours will focus on: Hard Condensed Matter (ISIS); Engineering (ISIS); Soft Matter (Diamond); Chemistry and catalysis (Diamond). You will be asked during the registration process to select the two tours that are of most interest to you.

The outline for the day is as follows;

11:00 - 12:30   Intro talks from ISIS & DLS
12:30 - 13:30   Networking lunch with scientists from both facilities
13:00 - 16:30   Tours
16:30 - 17:30   Final questions
