XPDF Beamline Workshop

To share with the community of our vision for XPDF and to receive feedback on our full proposal, we are holding a workshop on the proposed beamline

Date

Location
Diamond Light Source, Oxfordshire, UK

Funding has just been confirmed for the third tranche of beamlines (Phase 3) for Diamond and the beamline selection process is in progress. The Science Advisory Committee and Diamond directors have asked us to write a full proposal for next January for a Dedicated X-ray Pair Distribution Function Beamline (XPDF).

To share with the community of our vision for XPDF and to receive feedback on our full proposal, we are holding a workshop on the proposed beamline on 13 January 2011. Diamond will pay for the reasonable travel expenses of attendees up to £100. More may be available subject to budgetary constraints. Claim forms will be available at the meeting. The meeting will initially be limited to 40 people.

In addition to invited speakers there will be a discussion session with short presentations (5-10 min) from anyone who feels his/her research will benefit from the science areas that will be enabled by the new beamline. Please send us your title and short abstract and estimated time duration you would ideally like to talk (no guarantee).
