Our core programme is a four year Level 3 Engineering Technician in Mechatronics Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET Accredited) which means you’ll develop as a multi-skilled electrical, mechanical and electronics technician – perfect if you’re undecided on a specialism or would like to be trained in a variety of disciplines.
This is a four year Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship focused on maintenance operations within Diamond. You’ll learn the skills and knowledge in order to maintain, repair and install electrical mechanical services (e.g. Pumps, motors, air handling units, compressed air, lighting, electrical control systems, fire systems).
You will be expertly trained to use state-of-the-art, computer controlled, scientific instruments to perform accurate length and angle measurements of a variety of high-performance motorised stages for micro- and nano-positioning. This 3 year Level 3 apprenticeship will be in collaboration with the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL), a world-leading centre of excellence in developing and applying the most accurate measurement standards. You will participate in multiple scientific projects, including assembling and testing.
