All team members must be registered. The Principal Investigator must initiate the process for new users by inviting them to register.
Users who are already registered should check their details and update if necessary.
Once beamtime has been scheduled, the User Office will contact the Principal Investigator and Alternate Contact at the beginning of each Allocation Period in order for them to register if they are a new user. You must be registered in order to be able to manage your visits.
When you first register on the User Administration System (UAS), you do this with your email account and you will be asked to set a password. Your email account can be used to complete safety training if required.
If you are added to a team coming for beamtime you will then be issued with a FED ID and password to give you full access to your data at Diamond.
Once a user is registered on an upcoming session, the User Office will issue each user with a FED ID and password. These allow you to manage your visits and give you access to the computing facilities at Diamond as well as enabling you to submit an online expense claim. It is your responsibility to ensure that you remember your ID and password and bring them with you to Diamond.
When first issued, users are required to confirm acceptance of the Diamond Information Technology Policy and change their password.
