Calls for proposals are issued twice a year with deadlines of 1 April and 1 October. Call deadlines are displayed on the Users' home page and the User Office will announce a call by sending emails to all registered users approximately six weeks prior to the deadline.
Users are directed to the Beamline area, here there is a brief summary of each beamline with links to more detailed information.
We advise that you contact the Principal Beamline Scientist in advance of submitting your application to discuss your requirements and advise on the most suitable Access Mode.
Some beamlines offer a range of access routes. Please refer to the Access Route information to decide which option is best for you.
If you wish to submit a proposal which requires access to Diamond and ISIS, please refer to further information.
Proposals are reviewed initially by the Principal Beamline Scientist and Diamond safety teams for technical feasibility. The Peer Review Panel then make recommendation based on scientific merit.
Decisions from the review panels are passed to the Diamond management team for final approval. Decisions are announced by email approximately 4 weeks after each Panel meeting.
Once the decision has been made, Principal Beamline Scientists are responsible to scheduling the beamtime. Scheduling is normally complete within 4 weeks.
