Key Research Area

Transmission electron microscopy with a multidisciplinary approach to enable the understanding of the catalytic phenomenon at molecular level as strategy to design high performance catalysts.

Biography

Following a degree at the Technical University of Vienna I obtained my PhD in Physics at the Technical University Berlin in 2010. Before joining Johnson Matthey in 2014 I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Fritz-Haber-Institute of the Max-Planck Society in Berlin where my research was focused on electron microscopical characterization of heterogeneous catalysts. At JM I am leading research on the in-situ characterisation of heterogeneous catalysts in action under ambient conditions by means of electron microscopy. My research on catalytic systems relevant to Johnson Matthey combines in-situ electron microscopy with in-situ adsorption spectroscopy at the I14 beamline of Diamond Light Source.
