  • Development of beamline instrumentation

Latest Publications

Research

My main research ares have been:

  • Protein-DNA/RNA complexes
  • Antibiotic resistance in S. aureus
  • Metalloenzymes

I am now concentrating on new methods for sample mounting and visualisation to be applied at Diamond, mainly for smaller samples.

Current microfocus beamlines have been pushing the limits of flux and beam size, allowing to collect data on smaller and smaller crystals. As these decrease in size, handling and visualization becomes an issue. We are working on novel methods for mounting protein crystals, borrowing ideas from cryo-EM or developing new ones.

Collaborations

Development of Time-resolved techniques in collaboration with the Dynamic Structural Sciences consortium headed by Prof. Paul Raithby (Bath University).
