The energy of the beamline is normally set at 15 keV (λ ~ 0.826 Å) for all experiments
With the standard beamstop in position the lowest accessible 2Θ angle is ~ 3 degrees (d ~ 15 Å at 15 keV).

*****Note: under Covid-19 restrictions we are currently unable to offer the more complicated environments and experiments.
Level 3 protcols: Fixed standard energy, standard Debye-Scherrer (capillary) geometry. Cryostream (80 – 500 K) or hotair blower (RT – 1000°C). Applicants should avoid high throughput experiments, equipment changeover and plan for isothermal measurements. Data will be collected by beamline staff via sample mail in
Level 2 protocols: Fixed standard energy, standard Debye-Scherrer (capillary) geometry. Cryostream (80 – 500 K) and hotair blower (RT – 1000°C). Applicants should avoid high throughput experiments and minimise equipment changeover (i.e. hot air blower ⇔ cryostream). Up to two users per user group will be allowed to work on the beamline, staff support will be limited to office hours. Mail in will be possible.
We encourage users to discuss their requirements with the beamline staff

** Please allow at least four hours to setup.
***Allow one shift of beamtime to allow for set-up and cool-down. Maximum sample turnover one per day.
**** Contact staff for details on gas types permitted
An on-line 532nm Raman spectrometer (for capillary and gas cell) and online mass spectrometer (for gas flow experiments) can be requested but only as part of a proposal, due to the long setup times involved. Use of these needs to be discussed with the beamline staff prior to submission
