There are thousands of sites across the UK with contaminated soil due to previous industrial use such as mining, engineering works or lead smelting operations. Contaminated land can cause harm to human health, water supplies, natural habitats and property.
Join scientists who are using Diamond Light Source, the UK’s new synchrotron facility, to discover what lies within the cells of earthworms that have lived in contaminated soil and how nature can cleverly help us tackle global pollution.
Diamond Light Source is the UK's national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.
