Laboratory Facilities
Users at Diamond have access to a range of facilities to support their experiments. Diamond provides both general facilities for all users, and specialised laboratories for individual beamlines.
Further information on what equipment is available and how to access it can be found here.
The laboratories can be broken down into six general categories:
- Chemical
- Biological
- Workshops (mechanical and electrical)
- Lasers
- Surface science
- Beamline support
In addition to the facilities around the ring, the Research Complex at Harwell (RCaH) is adjacent to the synchrotron building. RCaH laboratories and facilities are available for Diamond users, in conjunction with beamtime, and Research Council grant holders. Equipment includes scanning and transmission electron microscopes, solution NMR and a 4-circle diffractometer with microfocus Cu and Mo sources. Access procedures for RCaH facilities are available on the RCaH website.
