Introduction
In addition to the beamline experimental stations, Diamond provides an extensive range of support facilities for users. Preparation laboratories, office space and meeting rooms are housed in the synchrotron building itself, and Ridgeway House, which provides overnight accommodation and evening meals, is a short walk away. The on-site restaurant provides lunch.
Accessing offline laboratory facilities
In addition to the facilities around the ring, the Research Complex at Harwell (RCaH) is adjacent to the synchrotron building. RCaH is a new, multidisciplinary laboratory that provides facilities for researchers to undertake new and cutting edge scientific research in both life and physical sciences and the interface between them. RCaH laboratories and facilities are available for Diamond users, in conjunction with beamtime, and Research Council grant holders. Equipment includes scanning and transmission electron microscopes, solution NMR and a 4-circle diffractometer with microfocus Cu and Mo sources. Access procedures for RCaH facilities are available on the RCaH website.
