For Synchrotron Users | Proposal Decision

Users should hear whether their proposal has been successful or not approximately 8 weeks after the call deadline. This information will be sent via email to the Principal Investigator and user specified as the main contact person on the proposal form.  Users will be asked to confirm receipt of this e-mail.

If users are unsuccessful in obtaining beamtime then, where possible, they will receive a brief explanation from the User Office to help them understand why this was the case. Any decision by Diamond management is final and non-negotiable.  Any queries relating to unsuccessful beamtime must be made via the User Office.  Full details of the Appeals Procedure can be found here.

Further correspondence will occur between the Principal Investigator and the User Office to clarify experimental setup, number of preparation days or collation days, laboratory requirements etc.
