European users of Diamond are facilitated by two EU framework 7 programmes that support transnational access to European synchrotron facilities.  Biostruct-X is supporting access for structural biologists exploiting Macromolecular Crystallography (MX) and Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) as well as the emerging technique of x-ray microscopy.  Whereas the Calipso consortium, for which Diamond is also a partner, is facilitating transnational access to all other beamlines lying outside the remit of Biostruct-X.
