Diamond Light Source facilities are available for use by the national and international scientific community. The User Office is the main point of contact for academic users - potential industrial users should contact the Industrial Liaison Office.
Applications to do research at Diamond are selected by peer review on the basis of scientific excellence, technological relevance and output from previous beamtime.
Applications are submitted electronically for two deadlines every year for various access routes. Calls for Proposals are announced on this website. Rapid access for short, urgent experiments is also offered.
Funding for European access is available for successful beamtime applications. Further details can be found in the User Guide.
