SR Summer School 2012
Diamond is pleased to announce it will run a third synchrotron radiation school on the 24th to the 28th September 2012. It will be run on very similar lines to the very successful SR School in 2010. The aim of the school is to provide postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers, who have little experience of SR, a broad-based introduction to many of the different types of experiments conducted using SR. This includes hands-on practical experience of performing an experiment on several of the Diamond beamlines. The participating beamlines are I06, I07, I10, I11, I12, I16, I18, B18, I19 , I22, I24, B16, B18 and B22 and students will have the chance to work on up to 4 of them.
The school will be co-located at Diamond and Jesus College, Oxford, with participants staying in Oxford.
The format of the school will be 2 days of lectures on SR methods, 2 days of experiments on the Diamond beamlines and on the final day a symposium with 5 leading Synchrotron practitioners talking about some of their research. The school has no registration fee and accommodation and meals will be provided throughout the week.
Included in the programme will be talks from the following:
