XAS workshop 14th-16th November 2011

The aim of the xas workshop is to teach new and existing users of the Diamond spectroscopy beamlines how to process and analyze their data. The course is a mixture of lectures and hands-on sessions designed to teach participants the basics of data processing and analysis.

This year we are delighted to announce that Bruce Ravel, developer of the Athena and Artemis XAS analysis packages, will be teaching the course. Bruce is an experienced experimentalist who has been involved in both the theoretical development of XAS as well as the development of software tools for the wider community. His insights and expertise will be of considerable benefit to all who attend.

The course is limited to 20 people and is provided free of charge. In the event the course is oversubscribed participants will be chosen based on the information supplied at registration. Diamond will cover the cost of meals during your stay but accommodation costs are to be covered by the participants. Registration closes 31st August and successful participants will be informed the following week.

If you have any questions regarding the course please contact Paul Quinn (paul.quinn@diamond.ac.uk)
