X-ray Free Electron Lasers are increasingly being applied in the area of life sciences research. Significant developments are taking place in the application of X-FELs for x-ray crystallography of biological molecules, but another application of interest to biological researchers is Single Particle Imaging (SPI), which has the potential of determining the three dimensional structure of macromolecules without the need for crystallization.

This workshop will bring together the life science research community with experts in X-FEL operation and exploitation, with the aim of promoting the usage of X-FELs for Single Particle Imaging by UK biological and biomedical researchers. The programme will consist of talks by world-leaders in the field, with opportunities for networking and consultation by UK Research Councils.

This is a 2-day event and there is no registration fee for the workshop. Lunch and all refreshments will be provided for both days. There will be an option to attend a BBQ at Cosener's house in Abingdon, once you register an email will be sent to you with details.
