Event Overview

The annual Diamond Synchrotron Radiation User Meeting will take place on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th September 2016 here at Diamond Light Source.

Featuring three topic-specific workshops and a student day (Tuesday 6th September 2015), the User meeting aims to bring together around 250 Diamond Users and Staff in one forum.

Keynote

This year's keynote speech, which will focus on cryo-electron microscopy; the technical challenges and its synergy with synchrotron based techniques, will be given by Professor Wah Chiu from Baylor College of Medicine.
 
Professor Chiu's group's research interests are to determine 3D structures of biological nanomachines by electron cryomicroscopy and computer reconstruction and to relate the structures to their functional mechanisms.
