Event details

Progressing in its final installation/commissioning phase, Beamline I09 at Diamond Light Source will soon be opened as a user facility dedicated for high-resolution investigations on atomic and electronic structures of a wide range of surfaces and interfaces using photoelectron spectroscopy (PES), near edge x-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS), x-ray standing waves (XSW), and photoelectron diffraction (PhD). Aiming to bring together the user community, this workshop introduced the beamline via discussion on the latest research activities in the relevant fields. The oral presentations covered diverse topics, including organic molecules-solid surface interactions, ionic liquids, graphene on metals, metal oxide surfaces and thin films, pharmaceutically relevant organic materials, and density-functional calculations for x-ray absorption/photoelectron spectroscopy.
