Beamlines | Beginners Guide to SAXS

There's lots of information out there on SAXS, but where to start? On these pages we have placed useful tutorials on most of the major areas of science covered by the technique, and how SAXS can help together with links to resources we hope you will find useful. In particular, we have tried to put together a useful guide to biological solution scattering for users of Diamond.

The tutorials come from the Diamond Synchrotron Summer School and from the S4SAS Workshop we held in Cardiff in 2010. We are planning to hold another of these meetings in 2012 at Sheffield University. Please sign up if you want to get advance notification of this workshop. It is aimed at those new to SAXS and those who would like a refresher! The workshop is held in conjunction with the SAXS User Meeting, which brings together the community to discuss the latest science and issues relating to the development of the technique.

We have also provided links to external resources we think you might find useful, including software and reference materials.
