The XRM2016 Welcome Reception will be held in the Institute of Mathematics Common Room which offers stunning views of the Radcliffe Observatory and combines the old and the new elements of Oxford seamlessly. Free for all delegates to attend, early registration will be open for you to come and pick up your delegate pack and then join us for a drinks reception to kick off XRM2016 in style.
The XRM2016 conference dinner will be held at the Oxford Town Hall, in the centre of Oxford on the evening of Thursday 18th August 2016. In the century since the Town Hall was first built the décor has remained authentic, and the hall treats us to the very latest in Victorian Britain fashion. This magnificent Grade 2 Listed Building not only continues to play a key role in the management, social and cultural life of residents and visitors but is also a versatile venue and home of the Museum of Oxford. It has seen royalty, protesters, murderers, and even the Rolling Stones. The former court still exists in the building, and for anyone misbehaving (or submitting their conference paper late!) there are cells down below.
The Town Hall is just a short walk from the conference venue, so we ask everyone to make their own way to the dinner.
Kicking off with a drinks reception in the Library, the 3 course meal will be accompanied by wine and entertainment. Tickets cost just £50 and you will need to pre-book your place during registration.
