Village: Surfaces and Interfaces
Current Research Techniques:
Surface X-ray diffraction
Grazing Incidence X-ray Diffraction (GIXD)
Grazing Incidence Small Angle X-ray Scattering (GISAXS)
X-ray Reflectivity (XRR)
Lab 45 is the beamline's UHV laboratory. There is space in this lab for chambers to be worked on offline for sample preparation or commissioning. Several of our systems are designed to be transported to the beamline to allow in-situ x-ray measurements during deposition.
The lab also contains a laminar flow cabinet for clean sample mounting and evaporator preparation, plus basic workshop facilities and hand tools.
The beamline also has a clean room for sample mounting and preparation when minimising contamination is vital.
Further facilities are avalable in the Surfaces and Interfaces Village's central surface science laboratory, where there is an offline UHV chamber including STM, LEED, XPS, etc.
