Current Research Interests

X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES), Resonat X-ray emission (RXES) and Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (EXAFS) are powerful techniques with which to study the local electronic and geometric structures around the absorbing atom. I am using these techniques to establish the electrical and structural changes that take place around cations and anions in liquids and various materials as a function of pressure and temperature.  In particular I'm interested in using XES to shed new light on the charge transfer process and mixed valence states that exist in liquids & amorphous materials.
