The I14 beamline has 2 support labs adjacent to the beamline. The first is a "wet" chemical lab equipped with basic equipment for specimen preparation and cryogenic handling. The second is a "dry" instrumentation lab with microscopy imaging and assembly facilities.

Cryogenic specimen preparation
Leica loading station for EM VCT 100
This is where the specimen are loaded onto holders, which are then loaded into the VCT 100 transfer shuttle for transfer under vacuum.
Leica EM VCT100 cryo transfer system
Contamination free cryo transfer system which cross-links preparation units with various analysis systems via a transfer shuttle connected to the load-lock of the I14 endstation
Visible light microscopes
Zeiss AxioImager M2m
With DIC, fluorescence imaging, dark and brightfield imaging, encoded manual stage and objective lenses with x5, x10, x20, x 50 and x100 magnification.
Other equipment includes a laminar flow hood, glove box and optical table.
