I04 is one of five macromolecular crystallography beamlines at Diamond. The typical working wavelength is 0.9795 Å (12.658 keV) but it is tuneable over the wavelength range 0.69 - 2.066 Å.
The beamsize can be focussed from 10 x 5 to 110 x 100 microns across the available energy range.
All MX beamlines use SPINE standard pins and Unipucks from cryocooled samples. The beamline can be accessed remotely.

A new compound refractive lens focussing system has been implemented on the beamline since January 2015. This provides a variable focus beam size across the available energy range. The chart below shows fluxes for beam sizes at selected energies for the current beamline configuration:
From January 2013 until December 2014 repolished mirrors delivered a focussed beam of 90 x 40 µm across all available energies. When coupled with beam shaping apertures the photon fluxes obtained at the sample during this period are shown below:
