Research Interests -

I joined Diamond in January 2013 as a beamline support scientist on the high resolution powder diffraction beamline I11. I am actively involved in gas cell and catalysis research at I11, developing the flow cell for in-situ catalysis experiments. I am working on the Long Duration Experiments hutch, helping to develop sample environments and deliver the project. 

My research interests cover the chemistry of both small and large molecules. My collaborations for the former include work on perovskites whilst the latter is driven by my interest in supramolecular chemistry - particularly the synthesis and structural study of palladium clusters and high-nuclearity cage complexes.

My PhD was carried out under the supervision of Professors Howard Colquhoun and Christine Cardin (Chemistry, University of Reading) and Dr Dave Allan (beamline I19), where I carried out many crystallographic studies of molecular tweezers and their complexes, resulting in a number of publications.

I am also actively involved in outreach activites with Diamond and the British Crystallographic Association, promoting science and crystallography to the public. I am co-leading Project M, a citizen science project for secondary school students exploring the different crystal forms of calcium carbonate.
